This six-week, eighteen-hour program offers adult learners of any age an opportunity to learn how to take charge of and manage their career. Employees are changing jobs upwards of 18 times in their career. This program may be the best investment you can make to move your career in the direction in which you want it to go.
Career Planning and Management - 9/8/09
Life long employment with one employer is a thing of the past. The average person now stays with one employer only a few years. In this session you will learn the basics for developing a career plan that includes setting and achieving personal or professional goals.
Resume Writing - 9/15/09
To land a great job you need a great resume. Learn how to use a resume to market yourself effectively in writing. In this session you will learn how to write a results-oriented, accomplishment-based resume that stands above the competition to visually capture an employer's attention and get an interview.
Interviewing - 9/22/09
In a competitive job market an interview can be very stressful especially if you do not know what to expect. This session provides a thorough understanding of the interviewing process. You will learn how to handle the most difficult interview questions with poise and confidence.
Job Search Strategies - 9/29/09
There are many ways to find a job. Some methods produce greater results than others. Learn the best and the least effective strategies. You will also learn how to tell if an employment opportunity is really a legitimate one.
Salary Negotiation - 10/6/09
Learn how to be your own agent and understand negotiation techniques that maximize salary and benefits. This session will help you to determine the value of your skills and the true value of the job offer that you are considering.
Changing Careers/Changing Direction - 10/13/09
Change can bring about positive self-renewal. In this session you will learn a strategic process for changing careers and have a clearer understanding of what it takes to make a successful career change - at any age.
