Biology: Master of Science

Specifically designed to meet the needs of working professional, our graduate program combines flexibility, focus on the particular interests of the student, and personalized attention in small class format.

CERTIFICATE IN EMERGING DISEASES
A Comprehensive Curriculum
Following the completion of 30 graduate-level credits in biology or a biology-related field, students select from a thesis or non-thesis option. Students who ard selected for the thesis option complete a research project under the direction of a biology department faculty member. The thesis is presented in writing and then defended as a culminating activity to the project. Students who choose thesis and non-thesis options complete a comprehensive exam as part of their graduation requirement.

Flexible Schedule
With most of the classes held online, this allows students from around the globe to participate and earn a degree in Biology. This gives students the flexibility to work at their most convenient times during the courses. Learn more about our online biology program.
Individualized Plan of Study
Students choose their plan of study from a variety of courses giving the student the ability to design a curriculum to meet their career goals. This plan of study can be changed but gives the college the ability to plan offerings better.
Small classes
With most of the courses offered online, this allows students from around the globe to participate and earn a degree in biology. Online class size is set at 15 students. This allows thoughtful discussion and individual contact between students and with the faculty.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of our program go on to exciting careers in research and education at institutions like Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Hartford Hospital, UCONN Health Center and numerous public school systems. Others pursue doctoral degrees at institiutions like Yale University and the University of Connecticut. Alumnae from our graduate program have also been accepted into various medical schools and physician's assistant programs.
