Saint Joseph College UEP Graduates

Urban Education Partnership (UEP)

UEP was founded in 2000 in response to the belief that properly supported, teachers in low-income schools can make a difference in closing the achievement gap. Coursework is based on nationally recognized professional development supplied by the American Federation of Teachers'(AFT).  UEP set within a learning community of professionals committed to diverse student groups.

UEP is a cluster of 5 courses, which may be completed in one year leading to a certificate or a concentration as part of a Master's degree in Education or Special Education.

Graduate Certificate Programs in Urban Education

Two graduate certificates in urban education are available, These are well-suited for professionals who wish to complete focused study on the complex needs of student from diverse cultural, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds

1. 10-credit certificate, "Urban Applications of the Educational Research"

2. 15-credit certificate, "Action Research for the Urban Classroom."

Admission
Prospective students must:

• Apply to the Graduate School  in order to obtain an identification number necessary for class registration.

• Submit two copies of official transcripts to verify possession of an undergraduate degree from a regionally  
  accredited institution in sealed envelopes. 

• Send or fax immunization form to Health Services.
