Registration Procedures for Online Courses
Registering for a Saint Joseph College Online Class is completed through the traditional process. By default, your College e-mail account will be your official e-mail account for all courses delivered by Saint Joseph College. If you have not used or have forgotten your password for your College e-mail account please call the IT Help Desk, 860.231.5310 or e-mail helpdesk@sjc.edu.
- Your online course will be delivered in Blackboard (Bb), which is hosted by the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium at bb.sjc.edu.
- Two business days before the course is scheduled to begin, you will be enrolled into the course. You may access the course following the instructions below:
- Go to bb.sjc.edu and click login.
- Type in your username. Bb uses your SJC e-mail address for your username and your 5 or 6 digit SJC ID# for your password. They will use the following convention: sj_sjcusername. The "sj_" prefix will be added to your SJC user name. The Saint Joseph College e-mail address is first initial and last name followed by "@sjc.edu". If this combination is not unique the middle initial is used after the first initial.
- Type in your password. The default Blackboard password will be your 5- or 6-digit Saint Joseph College ID number found on your student ID.
- You may receive an e-mail two weeks prior to the start of the course from your professor which will tell you what textbooks and material you need to purchase and how to access the course or you may contact the College Bookstore at 860.231.5290 for textbook requirements.
- The drop date for online classes is 48 hours after the class start date.
