Saint Joseph College Students

First Year Seminar

FYS Instructors/PM's 2009This course introduces students to college life and addresses the academic, social and emotional challenges of the first-year experience. Each engaging and challenging seminar promotes development of college-level critical thinking, reading, and writing skills. Students are introduced to services available at the College and encouraged to become actively involved in college activities. Small classes and a supportive environment encourage discussion and interaction among students and faculty inside and outside of class. Past seminars have explored such topics as "Beauty and the Beast: Romance to Reality;" "Childhood: The Wonder Years;" "Clone Wars;" "When Eating Becomes Disorder."
