Honors Program Mission Statement
In conjunction with the mission of Saint Joseph College and as a member of the National Collegiate Honors Council, the Honors Program at Saint Joseph College has a specific mission to provide a value-centered education to highly talented and motivated young women. Selected students are invited into the Honors Program community based on academic merit and personal integrity. The Honors Program prepares students to become global citizens, lifelong learners, and informed decisions makers, while also fostering the potential of each woman to provide leadership in her professional and personal contexts. The Honors Program cultivates integrity, respect, and social responsibility as a means of preparing students for excellence in an increasingly complex world.
The Saint Joseph College Honors Program effectively combines an intensive classroom curriculum with "real world" experiences. Students participate in enhanced Honors level courses drawn from a wide array of academic disciplines. They then move beyond the realm of the classroom and broaden their intellectual and cultural horizons through numerous exciting extracurricular activities.
