A corrected Greek text for performance, together with a new English translation. The text is adapted from the superb Teubner edition by M. L. West. Dactylic downbeats have been underlined, and tonally prominent syllables (according to the new theory of the Ancient Greek accent) have been printed in bold. The digamma has been restored selectively where it helps with scansion and performance.

The translation is an original, line for line impression in English prose intended as a prompt to students of the Greek. It boasts only that it has been done by someone who has actually heard, and performed, the original in Greek.
