St. John’s College Annapolis Celebrates 229th Commencement

In early March, Simran Thapa (SF22) and Bryn Frye-Mason (SF23) were awarded a Projects for Peace fellowship. Founded in 2007 by the late philanthropist Kathryn W. Davis, the initiative invites students at Davis United World College Scholars Program partner schools—a group that includes St. John’s—to formulate a project that promotes peace anywhere in the world.
Ece Nur Tuglu (A21) used her Pathways Fellowship to take a six-week summer class at University of California, Berkeley, titled “The Supreme Court and Public Policy.”
In late march, the latest edition of The Gadfly—the oldest student publication at St. John’s College—was announced to the St. John’s community, available in print and online. Fittingly, the issue represents, in many ways, the circumstances that produced it.
At his summer 2020 Hodson internship with NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC), Austin Dumas (A21) frequently employed one of the quintessential skills students practice at St. John’s: the ability to formulate questions.
