In this modern reading of Castiglione’s Book of the Courtier Randall Albury approaches Castiglione’s text with the understanding that some of its most important aspects are intentionally concealed and veiled in allegory. Albury argues that this reading of The Book of the Courtier enables us to recover a serious political message that has a great deal of contemporary relevance.
